Night of the Living Pelosi - Nancy Pelosi tries to sacrifice a goat to her zombie minions, but is stopped by her political opponent. Normally, I try to stay away from politics. I really do. You cut your audience in half, and with this site, that would literally bisect someone and kill them. However with all the seemingly useless attack ads out there that no one likes, there is one this season that plays out like a 70's era exploitation director got ahold of it. continue reading...

Shadow of the Vampire [2000] - During the filming of the classic Nosferatu, we find that there's more to the vampire actor than we know. I watched this back when it first came out. It was not due to the source material, but rather the fact that the movie rental business was still around, and that was the only form of entertainment at the time. I hadn't even heard of Nosferatu at the time and my desire to see cult and b-movies at all hadn't hit, so I went in expecting a normal vampire movie. continue reading...

American Gothic [1988] - Cultures mix when several couples go into the woods and find a deranged family. Culture clash is far from a new concept, and that of modern social norms vs those from yesteryear has also been used. Sometimes it's as simple as a group cut off from the rest of civilization for a period of time, while society progressed (or regressed at time). However I'm usually not in the camp that insists modern day values have improved much and would triumph over old fashioned one. Granted we have improved much in gender and race equality, but a fair amount of other things have moved in the opposite direction. continue reading...

Murdercycle [1999] - A falling asteroid infects a biker going through government property, turning him into a killing machine. In the quest to watch and/or own anything related to Full Moon Productions, I found a 4-pack of DVD's which had the much needed Killer Eye, two monster movies that could very will be for children, and then this: Murdercycle. Aside from being an awesome name, it seems to fit that 80's sci-fi/action hybrid perfectly. However, I noticed this was made in 1999. I did realize later that I wasn't 100% crazy (just a little), as the production artwork did date back to the 80's during the Empire Pictures days of Charles Band's career. Monsturd [2003] - An expirimental chemical dumped into a sewer mixes with the DNA from an escaped criminal who then becomes a human turd. Choosing a favorite movie ever, has always been tough for me. Some can rattle it off, others lie because that's a highly social-political chess move in life. For me, I usually have a steadfast movie/band/computer game, which is usually 'good' in all respects, but it ends up being more of a quick answer to a pointless question, rather than a true analysis of what being the best is. continue reading...

Goshtober 2012 - The site will be resurrected for a limited time only. Okay I've made a decision. There's probably about 4 people who visit this site on a given month, and 5 of them are spam bots who surprisingly leave nicer comments than most Youtubers despite posting a link that may get me fired or otherwise shamed. Aside from the eight year gap between the original couple reviews and the decent run we had for a while (one year), it's obvious I don't have time for the site as often as I'd like. I spend most of my time maintaining O-Review, since that actually does have a following, but I hate to leave things in such disrepair here.
So here's what I'm planning to do. In the latter part of September, and all of October, I'm going to drop my other projects and concentrate on doing various reviews or blogs that are Fall/Halloween in nature. To be honest, it's the only time of year that is inspiring. Certain points of Spring are nice with the promising 3 days of good weather, Easter Eggs, and wearing Shamrock antennae. Summer can be fun I guess. I really try to get into barbeque and neon picnic supplies, but I tend to just hate the heat and humidity, all the while waiting for the coolness of Fall to return again. Of course Christmas has it's own charm, but it's more for wholesome reasons, and that doesn't fit in well here. At least post-wise. And winter after New Years is essentially useless.
So hopefully I can get some content up here while I'm in a greater mood for it, while dropping my other workload and not get too overburdened. Doesn't include my normal life, but that's an aside.

Attack of the Giant Leeches [1959] - While bootlegging moonshine, and finding traps, folks in a town are attacked by aquatic leeches. I first saw this in my crazy eBay days of the early 2000's, when I stumbled upon a seller of n'th generation VHS dubs. At this point, you couldn't get much, since no one was making things on DVD aside from blockbusters, and most of the VHS tapes had tracking issues. At least the bootlegs would be new tapes at the very worst.
Now I find myself stumbling on it again, this time in a 6-pack of movies alongside the various Piranha and Octopus clones. In ten years, we went from scouring for laserdisc copies to getting a DVD of several movies at the cost of about 40 cents each. But due to the dodgy transfers used in the DVD, they are little more than cheap digitizations anyway, so perhaps we haven't gotten all that far. VLOG [2008] - Reality horror moves to the internet. Then nothing much happens. So with the rest of the crew doing their VLogs, I figured I'd chime in. Not with an actual vlog, as I'm far too lazy, so instead I'll just do one about the horrific movie: VLOG.
Let's take a history lesson that I'm all too embarrassed to recall. Dig back a decade, give or take a few years, on the internet. Webcams were becoming a big thing and provided the most 'instant' method of getting oneself from real life onto the net. Now video sites were really non-existant. Best case you uploaded grainy MPG files or something similar. Maybe encode them as wmv, and then try some clunky embed code. We'll ignore RealVideo files, since that was painful on all accounts. continue reading...
